Establishing the Law of Demand

OBJECTIVE 

Students shall be able to

  1. derive the law of demand from raw data,

  2. construct a demand schedule,

  3. construct a demand curve,

  4. apply the law of demand to a given situation, and

  5. recognize the difference between a change in demand and a change in quantity demanded.

 

ACTIVITIES

  1. Students shall survey other students to determine the level of demand for homecoming tickets. 

  2. Students shall report back to class with survey data. 

  3. The data will be compiled to form a demand schedule. 

  4. Students shall construct a demand curve using the data from the demand schedule. 

  5. Discuss the difference between a change in demand and a change in quantity demanded.

Assignment: Take notes on the class discussion.
