Topic The Constitution of the United States
   
Objectives Students shall be able to
  1. identify key principles of the Constitution,
  2. explain the relationship between the Constitutional framework and the Framers views of human nature,
  3. identify antifederalist arguments in opposition to the Constitution,
  4. explore the reasons why the Constitution originally contained no bill of rights,
  5. analyze Constitutional treatment of slavery,
  6. discuss the motives of the Framers of the Constitution, and
  7. evaluate proposals to change the nature of the Constitutional distribution of powers.
   
Activities Lecture/Discussion: an overview of the Constitution.

Assignments Read the "Federalism" page. Read Wilson chapter 3 and complete the preparation assignment (Word or PDF).
